What is Lash Extension?

What are Lash extensions?
They are individual, long-lasting lashes. Synthetic LASH beLONG Extension eyelashes are applied directly to your clients natural lashes using LASH beLONG Medical grade semi-permanent adhesive. This gives natural lashes the appearance of being thicker and longer.

What can my client expect during the procedure?
Your client will be pampered and relaxed for 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the desired lash look and the expertise of your technician. Touch-ups take less time; approximately 15-45 minutes. Your client’s natural lashes will need to be completely free of all make-up and oil based products. Their eyes will be closed and protected throughout the procedure. Most clients fall asleep.
• You can play soft music during the duration of the procedure.
• As an extra pampering treat, during the procedure you may wish to condition your client’s hands with moisturizer and place the hands in mitts.

How many individual LASH beLONG Extension eyelashes will I use per application?
There are many factors to be taken into consideration when applying extensions. Your client consultation will determine thickness and style of application. Generally a full set will require up to 40 lashes per eye for a basic natural set.

How long will LASH beLONG Extensions last?
When applied properly and with proper care, LASH beLONG Extensions will adhere for the entire cycle of hair growth, approximately 6-8 weeks depending on the individual. Natural Eyelashes are shed on a regular basis. This may result in multiple extension loss on any given day. When the natural lash is shed the synthetic lash will fall with it. Touch-up applications will be necessary every 2-4 weeks to maintain a full lash line.

Why are there varying lengths of lashes in my kit?
Variation in length of lashes is recommended to create a natural flow and look to the lash. Longer lashes can be used in the corner of the eye, or in the center of the eye. LASH beLONG also has volumizing lashes designed for volume and creative looks.

What after care instructions should I provide to my clients?
• Do not cleanse eyes, shower, swim, use a steam or dry sauna for at least 12 hours after procedure. Preferably 24 hours is advised for proper bonding.
• Always be gentle with lashes.
• Do not use an eyelash curler.
• Avoid all oil-based make-up products and eye-makeup remover.
• Avoid mascara.
• Touch ups are recommended every two to four weeks.
• Refrain from rubbing your eyes to avoid eye irritation.

How much can a technician charge for a LASH beLONG extensions service?
This will vary from technician to technician depending on experience and location. Professionals are charging RM100.00 – RM150.00 and above per application. Many salons and spas will offer a set price package for first time application and touch-ups.

Can I apply LASH beLONG extensions to clients if their natural eyelashes are tinted or dyed?
Yes. You may apply LASH beLONG extensions to tinted lashes. We recommend waiting 24 hours between services. Be sure lashes are clean, oil free and dry before applying LASH beLONG Extensions.

Can anyone apply LASH beLONG Extensions?
LASH beLONG Extensions are for PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY. To ensure proper lash application LASH beLONG Extensions must be applied by a trained aesthetician.

EASY STEPS TO HEALTHY NAILS

The latest trend in beautiful nails has resulted in the mushrooming of nail bars in the Klang Valley that cater to customers who are interested in having a manicure or pedicure. A manicure is a treatment for beautifying the fingernails and hands, while a pedicure is for the feet.

Whilst it is important to beautify the nails externally, it is also important to ensure that the health and strength of fingernails and toenails are maintained. Nails protect the sensitive tips of fingers and toes.

Human nails provide support for the tips of the fingers and toes, protecting them from injury and aid in picking up small objects. Without them, we will have a hard time scratching an itch or untying a knot.

Nails can be an indicator of a person's health and illness, which often affects their growth. Nails are composed of keratin, a type of protein and mineral complex. Nails are meant to be strong yet flexible, smooth and glossy.

The health of nails relies on sufficient supplies of protein, B vitamin, vitamin A, calcium, zinc, iodine and iron. Below is a list of nails problem and the probable solutions:-

1) Darkened or pale nails caused by lack of iron.
Solution: A complete multivitamin with iron and zinc

2) Dry nails that split or break easily caused by lack of Calcium and Silica
Solution: The herb, Horsetail, is a good source of bio-available silica, which our body can use and a good calcium supplement will help nails regain its strength.

3) Opaque white bands on nails or thin nails caused by lack of protein and B vitamins.
Solution:- Royal jelly is a rich source of nutrients providing over 18 types of amino acids (proteins), B vitamins, as well as vitamins A, C, D and E.

Other important tips for strong healthy nails:-
1) Drink plenty of water and other liquids - dehydration can cause cuts and cracks in nails.
2) Treat your nails with care and do not use them as a tool to pick, pry or scrape.
3) Keeping your nails shorter can help reduce breakage and damage.
4) Avoid immersing you hands in bleaching agents or harsh chemicals.

Time flies, have we arrived at the end of July? Found a good article on NAILS Magazine Blog , in light of the economic downturn ...

For years financial advisors have counseled the cash-strapped to cut back on their daily grandé latte and instead tuck away the cash equivalent for a rainy day. But now they’ve gone too far. A recent article in the Wall Street Journal advises readers to “make a few small sacrifices” in these tough times, including skipping the salon and polishing nails at home. “Skip the salon and buff your nails yourself, and you’ll pocket $10 to $20 a week,” writes Lauren Baier Kim.

Ms. Kim is obviously missing the point of the weekly mani; it’s about so much more than polish. It’s about the pampering — taking time away from the kids and the office and putting yourself first. It’s about girly fun, human touch, and a sense of belonging. Don’t think of it as pricey polish, think of it as therapy at a truly bargain price.
